Yes, that's right: TEXAS. Here's the situation. There were several things I intended to do upon reaching the World Trade Center which I did reach on Dec. 20th. Number one was to do a circuit around the greater site, gathering any persons that had an interest in listening to/conversing about the post 9/11 future we are building together, and the role self awareness plays in determining it. Second was to then stop in front of the visitor tribute center and make a statement regarding the above that was directed at those present, America, and the world in general, and to shoot footage of the whole thing which would then be posted to the site.

Over the last 7 or so weeks as I battled with my own limitations to revise the intro with a definition of self awareness and also make a functioning press release, the time I had to write what I wanted to say at the WTC was eaten away. Consequently, what I showed up with there was a very rough and somewhat disjointed version of what I wanted to say. I was prepared to try to render said version in a coherent fashion if members of the media actually showed. I would like to note that I and three other persons found no direct and conventional way to deliver a press release to the New York networks that did not involve the payment of money. Interesting. Anyway, no media showed up. I should also say that I was almost immediately slated to leave for a family Christmas, etc. in Texas, to return on the 5th of Jan. (wish it wasn't so long now). In light of all this I saw a hard decision I needed to make. There was no question in my mind that I was going to make and shoot footage of a statement at the WTC. But was I to follow through with my exact plan, thereby producing a statement and video that would be less cohesive and to the point than I was capable of making? Or was I to delay making the statement so I could finish putting it in optimal form but risk a loss of appreciation from people due to not making it immediately upon my arrival at the site? This whole thing is about very unconventional ideas and subtle but important distinctions within them. I chose not to make and shoot the statement upon my arrival. This is because I feel rendering the best version of what I have to say, although after the moment of completion, is far more important than rendering a sub-standard version of it exactly at the end of the walk. So I'll be going back to the WTC site after my return to NY on the 5th. I will at that point gather any local interest, and make, and shoot footage of, my statement and post it as soon as I can. This also gives me another opportunity to scare up any further official parties of interest that may yet be unaware of the whole thing.

Now, down here in Texas, I am simply trying to effectively balance a fair amount of what feels like much needed decompression and relaxation with small portions of daily editing.

Happy Hollies and a memorable (y'know, able to be remembered?) New Year's Eve to all.

See you after the confetti settles.
